Replacement

Put on gloves to prevent hand injuries.

When removing with a flat-tip screwdriver or remover,wrap protective tape around the tools to preventdamage to components.
•
Take care not to scratch the body surface.

Loosen the mounting screw and remove the tailgatetrim (A).

To install, reverse removal procedure.

Replace any damaged clips.

    Component Location 1. Tailgate trim

    Replacement 1. Using a flat-tip screwdriver, lift up slightly the socket clips (A) of both ends on the lifter (B), and then remove the lifter from the bracket.

    Inspection 1. Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal. 2. Remove the crash pad lower panel (A). (Refer to Body - "Crash Pad Lower Panel") 3. Remove the crash pad lower switch (A).

    Inspection 1. Connect the battery voltage and check the blower motor rotation. 2. If the blower motor does not operate well, substitute with a known-good blower motor and check for proper operation.
