Hyundai Venue: Front Suspension System / Rear Torsion Beam Axle. Repair procedures
[Rear drum brake type]
1. |
Loosen the wheel nuts slightly.
Raise the vehicle, and make sure it is securely supported.
|
2. |
Remove the rear wheel and tire (A) from the rear hub.
Tightening torque :
107.9 - 127.5 N.m (11.0 - 13.0 kgf.m, 79.6 - 94.0 lb-ft)

Be careful not to damage the hub bolts when removing
the rear wheel and tire (A).

3. |
Disconnec the rear wheel speed sensor connector (A).
|
4. |
Loosen the screw and then remove the rear drum brake (A).
Tightening torque :
4.9 - 5.9 N.m (0.5 - 0.6 kgf.m, 3.6 - 4.3 lb-ft)

5. |
Remove the rear parking cable bracket mounting bolts (A).
Tightening torque :
8.8 - 13.7 N.m (0.9 - 1.4 kgf.m, 6.5 - 10.1 lb-ft)

6. |
Remove the rear wheel speed sensor bracket mounting nuts (A).
Tightening torque :
8.8 - 13.7 N.m (0.9 - 1.4 kgf.m, 6.5 - 10.1 lb-ft)

7. |
Remove the rear brake hose bracket mounting bolts (A).
Tightening torque :
12.7 - 16.7 N.m (1.3 - 1.7 kgf.m, 9.4 - 12.3 lb-ft)

|
8. |
Loosen the hub mounting bolt and then remove the hub (A) from torsion
beam axle.
Tightening torque :
49.0 - 58.8 N.m (5.0 - 6.0 kgf.m, 36.2 - 43.4 lb-ft)

9. |
Loosen the bolt and then discoonect the rear shock absorber (A) from
the torsion beam axle.
Tightening torque :
98.1 - 117.7N.m (10.0 - 12.0kgf.m, 72.3 - 86.8lb-ft)

10. |
Loosen the mounting bolt (A) and then remove the torsion beam axle (B).
Tightening torque :
117.7 - 137.3 N.m (12.0 - 14.0 kgf.m, 86.8 - 101.3 lb-ft)

[Rear disc brake type]
1. |
Loosen the wheel nuts slightly.
Raise the vehicle, and make sure it is securely supported.

2. |
Remove the rear wheel and tire (A) from the rear hub.
Tightening torque :
107.9 - 127.5 N.m (11.0 - 13.0 kgf.m, 79.6 - 94.0 lb-ft)

Be careful not to damage the hub bolts when removing
the rear wheel and tire (A).

Remove the brake caliper from the torsion beam axle.
(Refer to Brake System - "Rear Disc Brake")
|
4. |
Loosen the bolt & nut and then disconnect the rear shock absorber (A)
from the torsion beam axle.
Tightening torque :
98.1 - 117.7 N.m (10.0 - 12.0 kgf.m, 72.3 - 86.8 lb-ft)

5. |
Disconnect the rear wheel speed sensor connector (A).
|
6. |
Remove the rear wheel speed sensor bracket mounting nuts (A).
Tightening torque :
8.8 - 13.7 N.m (0.9 - 1.4 kgf.m, 6.5 - 10.1 lb-ft)

7. |
Remove the rear parking cable bracket mounting bolts (A).
Tightening torque :
19.6 - 29.4 N.m (2.0 - 3.0 kgf.m, 14.5 - 21.7 lb-ft)
|
|
8. |
Loosen the mounting bolt (A) and then remove the torsion beam axle (B).
Tightening torque :
117.7 - 137.3 N.m (12.0 - 14.0 kgf.m, 86.8 - 101.3 lb-ft)

|
[Rear torsion beam axle bush replace]
1. |
Remove the rear torsion beam axle from the vehicle.
(Refer to Rear Torsion Beam Axle - "Removal")
|
2. |
Using the SST (09551-AL100) and press, replace the bush (A).
•
|
When press in the bush, press the same direction of
the void (A) and the flange direction (B) before detaching.
|
|
|
1. |
Install in the reverse order of removal.
|
Other information:
Replacement
[TPMS Receiver (Integrated Body Control Unit (IBU))]
1.
Turn the ignition switch OFF and disconnect the battery negative (-)
cable.
2.
Remove the glove box.
(Refer to Body - "Glove Box Housing")

Inspection
[On vehicle inspection]
1.
Accelerate the engine to about 3,000 rpm 3 times or more.
2.
Remove the spark plug.
3.
Check the spark plug visually...
